Code Of Ethics & Conduct

Responsibilities of all members
 
GBTA North Carolina Chapter enthusiastically welcomes members & guests as part of our chapter to participate in educational programs and seminars; network with fellow industry colleagues; and volunteer for committee and leadership roles.  While part of the GBTA North Carolina Chapter, members & guests are expected to adhere to our Code of Ethics and Conduct as stated below.  Members & Guests must accept responsibility for the consequences of their activities and make every effort to ensure that their decisions, recommendations and actions, serve and satisfy the organization. 


Our Standards

  1. Give first consideration to the objectives and policies of our organization.

  2. Respect the privacy of buyers by not soliciting for their business during GBTA North Carolina Chapter events, some buyers finds this practice intrusive.

  3. While networking is encouraged during events, be considerate and conduct business at a time that is scheduled at the prospective client’s convenience.

  4. Conduct business with potential and current clients in an atmosphere of good faith, devoid of intentional misrepresentations.

  5. Foster fair, ethical and legal trade practices.

  6. Treat your client’s transactions confidentially and not disclose any information without permission of the client, unless required by law.

  7. Counsel and cooperate with members and promote a spirit of unity and a keen interest in professional and personal growth.

  8. Refrain from attending events under the influence of any substance.

Any member found to be in violation of any provision of the Code of Ethics & Conduct may have his or her Association membership suspended or revoked. It is, and shall continue to be, the policy of GBTA North Carolina Chapter that members who conduct themselves in an unethical, illegal or unprofessional manner, detrimental to the goals and objectives of the Association, will be called upon to answer for such conduct to the GBTA North Carolina Chapter Board of Directors and be subject to dismissal from the Association for cause. Applying for a membership in the GBTA – North Carolina Chapter and registering to attend an event, indicates your consent to agree to abide by this intent.
