Membership is open to all individuals who are engaged in travel, transportation, lodging and associated professions. Our membership term is January 1-December 31. The dues for New Members joining after September 1 will be applied to the following year(this does not apply to current Members who are renewing). Please fill out our online Membership Application.

Mission Statement
 

NCBTA is the representative voice of business travel professionals in North Carolina. The association provides a forum for the constructive exchange of information and ideas among its members. It is dedicated to enhancing the educational advancement and image of the profession and its members.

Purpose

  • To provide a forum for an open exchange for views and ideas concerning the travel industry and the effect this industry has on the business traveler in North Carolina;

     
  • To promote education and foster learning through programs that address current issues affecting the travel industry;

     
  • To enhance the value of travel managers and service providers in meeting corporate travel needs and financial goals;

     
  • And to enhance the professionalism and recognition of the travel industry and individual members.


Why Join:

  • Programs and Education. The North Carolina Business Travel Association devotes the bulk of our resources to the education and professional skill development of our members.  Understanding that corporate business travel is at the crossroads of change, NCBTA believes that a complete and intimate knowledge of the travel industry is crucial to the success of its members.  Throughout the year, educational programs are held on a wide variety of topic’s affecting business travel management; from new developments in technology to changes in local and national purchasing trends.

     
  • Networking. Success in any business begins with establishing relationships among professionals in its industry.  By actively participating in monthly meetings and other exciting events, NCBTA members network and establish the professional relationships necessary for success.  Promoting the healthy exchange of ideas and information, NCBTA enthusiastically welcomes the challenges of the 21st Century and vigorously represents and supports the needs and interests of those involved in the fields of business travel.

     
  • Volunteerism and Leadership. At the core of NCBTA are volunteers who compose our officers and committees.  Accomplished and respected professionals in the travel management industry, they focus on specific issues which will affect our members.  Because we are a collective of interested and motivated individuals, our members have the opportunity to actively participate in the functioning of NCBTA, gain the experience to grow professionally and assume leadership positions.  By providing an information network where those pursuing careers in travel management can associate closely with industry leaders on important issues, NCBTA is the ideal venue for individuals of all abilities and backgrounds to work together and effect real and lasting change in an important aspect of the local business community.

Membership Types:

  • Direct Membership 
    Persons employed with a business for the purpose of procuring travel services for the
    employees of a business or responsible for administering the travel policies of a business not otherwise classified as Allied.


     
  • Allied Membership 
     A business travel industry representative for car rental, hotel/motel, airline, rail, limousine,
    chamber of commerce and/or convention and business bureau. This will include all other travel related or travel consulting suppliers including travel agencies supporting corporate Travel Departments, T&E systems suppliers, automation vendors, credit card vendors, and other travel suppliers not otherwise classified as Direct
     
     
  • Honorary Lifetime Membership 
    Any individual who has been recognized by the Officers and Board of Directors as
    having rendered distinguished service to the industry or the Chapter. Honorary members will be extended complimentary annual membership to the Chapter. They will not having voting privileges.
  • Student Membership Available to individual enrolled in a program at a college or university or other post secondary institution leading to a degree in travel. Student members may not hold an elected office or vote, but may serve as an observer on any committee.  
  • Educator Members - Available to any full time teacher/professor from a licensed or accredited school/university engaged in teaching students in a subject areas related to business travel. Educator members may not hold elected office or vote, but may serve on any committee.
